General Chemistry Principles and Modern Applications

General Chemistry Principles and Modern ApplicationsGeneral Chemistry is a branch of study dealing with the interaction of matter, forces, and molecules. This course can be useful for all students wishing to take a Chemical Engineering as well as Science courses. You should have knowledge in the traditional principles as well as advanced and modern applications. The study of the chemical elements can be learned through the classical principles. It is considered to be a study of the different atomic formulas which include the elements, atomic weights, and most importantly, the chemical compounds that comprise a particular element. There are also some other applications such as the non-organic solvents, acid neutralization, molecular bonding, thermal dissociation, carbon dioxide fixation, gas stabilization, infrared absorption, and the affinity separation. When taken as an undergraduate course, the above will only focus on the non-organic chemical elements. The modern applications will c oncentrate on the aspects of gas, liquid, and solid state chemical reactions. The second class will also teach the fundamentals in the field of sciences and chemistry. An examination on chemical kinetics is a part of the course as well as the Pervasive Equilibrium Theory. In quantum chemistry, the atoms and molecules can be labeled as either neutral or charged. The study of atomic, molecular, and environmental interactions will be taught in this class. The second class will also include the principles of reactivity, chemical stability, nuclear physics, quantum mechanics, and the chemical bonding. The third class is designed to study chemical kinetics. In this course, there will be a lot of laboratory work, and a student will take chemistry assignments with the lab. This course also includes the role of gravity in the reactions, molecular density, and the gas-phase equilibrium of molecules. The fourth class focuses on the study of the chemical bond and the mechanisms of the bond formati on. This class is used to study the bond formation of water, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and ketones. In this class, students will also learn about the covalent bonding, polar melting, and the relation between the metal ions and the nuclei. This course is used to introduce the concepts of chemistry, molecular spectroscopy, electrical and electronic properties, photoelectrochemical process, and general physical properties of liquids and gases. There are many topics related to the chemical bonding and its reactions such as ionic bond formation, the bonding energy of the molecules, and ionic bonding reactions.

Consecutive Interior Angles

Consecutive Interior Angles Consecutive interior angles is a useful tool. When 2 parallel lines are crossed (Transversal line) by another line, the pair of angles on one side of the transversal insides the 2 lines is called consecutive interior angles. These consecutive interior angles follow each other. Also consecutive interior angles add up to 180 degrees. This consecutive interior angles tool helps to prove that 2 lines crossed by transversal are parallel. We may say that consecutive interior angles are supplementary. Example 1: A road crosses a set of railway tracks. The angle 3 is 70 degrees. Find angle 6 in the given figure. = Angle 2 and 6 are corresponding angles therefore A2 = A 6, = Angle 2 and 3 are vertical angles, therefore A2 = A3 = Or we may say A3 = A 6 when we combine the above 2 statements = Now since A3 = 70 degrees = A3 = A 6 = 70 degree. Example 2: A road crosses a set of railway tracks. The angle 1 is 110 degrees. Find angle 8 in the given figure. Solution: In the given problem = Now since A1 = 110 degrees= Angle 1 and 5 are corresponding angles = Therefore A1 = A 5 = Angle 5 and 8 are vertical angles, therefore A 5 = A 8 = Or we may say A 1 = A 8 when we combine = A 8 = 110 degrees

Are You Thinking about Taking the New August SAT

Are You Thinking about Taking the New August SAT If youre a high school student, the parent of a high school student, or otherwise plugged into the world of standardized testing, youve probably heard about the new August SAT that will be administered this year. Bowing to popular demand, the College Board has finally decided to give students the option of taking the SAT over the summer. The total number of SAT dates each year will stay the same, though starting in 2018 there will no longer be a January SAT date. The official August SAT date will be August 26, 2017. The registration deadline for this test is July 28. You can register for the August SAT at the College Boards website. Please note that its probably a good idea to go ahead and register for this test right now if youre considering taking it. Many students, especially in the competitive Bay Area, are interested in trying the new August SAT, and due to the summer testing date, fewer testing sites will be available. This issue of limited space appears to be especially acute f or test-takers with accommodations for learning differences. Many of those testing spots across the Bay Area are already full. If you have accommodations for the SAT and you havent registered for the August test yet, do so immediately (or plan on driving a ways to find an open testing site). Now, onto the question weve been getting from many AJ Tutoring students and parents should I take the August SAT? A few thoughts:What year are you in high school? If youre a rising senior, the August SAT might be a great option for you. Many rising seniors have already taken the SAT at least once during the spring of their junior year. The August SAT is a great time for a retake, since for most students it comes before the beginning of the school year (and fall of senior year tends to be quite busy). The August test date gives you a little wiggle room to retake the SAT in October if needed and still get SAT scores in plenty of time for college applications. It also gives you the option of taking the SAT in August and SAT subject tests in October, since those must be taken on different test dates. The more difficult decision is whether a rising junior should take the August SAT. With good intentions, many parents want their student to get the SAT out of the way before junior year starts. For many students, junior year is the toughest year of high school with the most demands on their time, and it seems like a good idea to finish standardized testing before junior year gets into full swing. However, in our experience, the vast majority of students will get their best score on an SAT taken in the spring of their junior year (at the earliest). Theres nothing wrong with taking the August SAT as a rising junior, as long as youre open to retaking the test later in junior year. The August SAT may also be a good option for recruited athletes and other students who may need an SAT score earlier than normal. How much time can you devote to SAT prep this summer?Again, good intentions reig n. Staring down the barrel of a busy May and June, many students vow to throw their energy into SAT prep over the summer with an eye toward taking the August SAT. For many students, this plan will work well theyll be able to focus on preparing for the SAT over the summer with minimal distractions from school and sports. However, students should be brutally honest with themselves when deciding whether to take the August SAT. If you have a month-long vacation planned for July, an intense summer class, or a full-time summer job or if youre simply the kind of person who finds it hard to get motivated for SAT prep when you could be hanging out in Santa Cruz with your friends the August SAT may not be the best choice for you. Of course, you can always take the SAT in August with minimal prep over the summer, but just keep in mind that you may want to retake the test in October if you dont get the score youre looking for.How does SAT tutoring fit into your summer schedule? If you choose t o prepare for the SAT with an AJ tutor (and we hope you do!), you can expect to complete nine 1.5-hour sessions leading up to the August 26 test date. If you start tutoring after school is out, this generally means meeting about once per week throughout June, July and August. We also ask our SAT prep students to complete at least 3 full-length practice SATs, preferably proctored at our office on Saturday mornings. You can find our complete schedule of proctored practice SATs on our website. If youve already worked with us for SAT or ACT prep, we can usually shorten your prep for an SAT retake. Students will often complete four 1.5-hour sessions in preparation for retaking the SAT. You should also plan on taking 2 full-length practice SATs on the weekends. During the retake prep, your SAT tutor will focus more closely on your areas of difficulty from the last SAT and work on fine-tuning your approach to the test.In general, we think that the introduction of an August SAT date is a gre at move by the College Board to give students more options. Most rising seniors should at least consider taking the SAT in August.Interested in more information about the August 2017 SAT, or still not sure whether this test is right for you? Just fill out a consultation request or give us a call at (650) 331-3251. Wed love to talk through your SAT testing plan!

5 Tips On How To Deal With College Roommates

5 Tips On How To Deal With College Roommates A roommate I love College roommates are one of the most unique, wild, and uncomfortable social experiments to ever exist. Were all trying to find ourselves in these pivotal years, and most of us are stressed/ cracked out on caffeine. These factors only heighten our emotional states. Paired with the fact we need to cohabitate with each other creates a boiling pot of emotions and boundaries being crossed. My freshman living situation was one hazy fever dream My roommate was the physical antithesis of me. He was a tall, built, football-player who dwarfed me which made my initial trepidation about meeting him only greater. I had never lived with another man before besides my father, who snores like a fog horn and burps just to annoy me. The idea of being forced to cohabit in laughably small room with a boy my age was both terrifying and fascinating to me. The reality of the situation, however, is that we were not the most compatible to live with each other. There’s a list of horrors that include (but ar e not limited to): ball pythons with homicidal eyes, dip spit cups, and the whole ‘he never ever did his laundry’ thing. If I hadn’t been so meek maybe I could have made some changes. I eventually found solace when he had to leave school and I had my entire room to myself for most of Spring Semester. Deep down, I had a strange fondness for the guy. He was kind at heart, albeit misguided, and helped me dunk my toes into the deep pool that is potential roommate conflicts. Here is my advice on how to deal with a roommate who might not be the most pleasant to live with: 1.    Be up-front and bold with the rules- Lay down all nit-picky rules you’re going to need to beforehand. Even things you think you may never need, such as “Please don’t use my toothpaste,” or “Please make sure your friends don’t write on our walls with chalk.” That way, nothing is a surprise for anyone. We’ve all had living situations in which we just wanted to be pals with our roommates and therefore we were meek about our needs. Then, a few months into the semester you’re pulling out your hair at the passive aggressive notes they leave on your white board. “Clean up the dishes, please  it’s starting to smell like a homeless shelter in here.” Oh, yea?   2.    On that note, just avoid leaving notes: I understand that it’s 2013 and the Internet has turned us all into huge babies who shy away from combative, in-person interaction, but passive aggressive notes are never the route to take. Don’t write them, don’t indulge in them. Every smiley face my roommates would use against felt like a bitch slap to the face. Every ‘love you!’ felt synonymous with “fuck you.” Just sit down face to face. You know, like the adults we’re all demanding to be treated like. 3.   Don’t talk behind their backs! Okay, who am I kidding, if a roommate eats all of my cereal, my first instinct is to call up my best friend and gossip like I’m at a French Salon. The #dark truth of the matter is that it almost always gets back to the roommate. If this happens, and it will, you can just take pleasure in reenacting a scene directly from The Hills; you know the one where Lauren screams at Heidi “YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID!” Don’t lie; you know which one I’m talking about. loves it 4.      Aggressively walk around in your underwear / a cat onesie and whisper nonsensical things until they leave for the night and you’re free to use the living room to watch Game of Thrones and openly weep without judgment. Make sure your roommate knows you need your space and alone time. It’s not you being a jerk, it’s you loving yourself and making sure you have time to decompress. 5.     Get rid of them. If all else fails, take back your castle! Or studio apartment, or whatever. Put Nair in their conditioner, tell them you have mono and promise to infect the whole apartment unless they leave. Get a cat and tell them Mr. Whiskers is moving into their room. This may be tricky since there are legally binding leases involved with having roommates, but no matter! Go Lindsay-Lohan-Parent-Trap style on their ass and move all their furniture to the roof.  No, don’t do any of those things. If you and a roommate literally can’t see eye-to-eye, it’s best to try and figure out alternative arrangements for one of you. Living with someone you despise is completely toxic and so detrimental to both your mental and physical health. roommates / studz I’ve been lucky to make some wonderful friends through living with people (all the ones featured in these photos + ones who are not) It’s completely possible to cohabitate with another human being without the result being homicide. Roommate scuffles can be a battleground in which the worst version of you becomes a warrior. As long as your roommate isn’t a total sociopath, you should be able to sit down and discuss things thoroughly. We’re here in college to get an education, but we’re also here to gain the life skills necessary to be independent, experienced adults.

3 Ways to Stay Inspired as an Intern

3 Ways to Stay Inspired as an Intern pexels.com Limited Time There is so much to do, so much to learn, and so many people to meet when you are working an internship. It can often feel overwhelming when you have so much to do in such a limited time. Yeah, you do have a lot to do. You have got paperwork to file, phone calls to make, coffee to make, and a hundred million other things to do that are specific to your internship. Of course, it is a lot; you are often thrown in and it is up to you to decide whether you will sink or whether you will swim. Your bosses are not there to baby you, they are there to get the most work out of you that they possibly can. And believe me, they want you to succeed and be as productive as you possibly can be. So you have to use the fact that you have such a limited time to inspire yourself to make the most of the time that you do have. Do not let yourself get caught up and overwhelmed to the point that you cannot accomplish anything at all. Just take it one step at a time and remember that it is possible for you to do all the things that you set out to do and for you to accomplish all the goals you wanted to achieve it is not too long before you’ll be back in school, wishing you were back and working your internship and working in your field once more. pexels.com Job Opportunities Internship work is tough work too. You are working hard, hustling, and getting work done. The stress of doing so much work and making a good impression on not only your bosses but also your peers can take its toll and after a while, it can be hard to stay motivated. You can begin to feel drained and lose focus. What you have to keep in mind is that all the work you are doing for this internship will only help you get a job in the future. Sure, you might be grabbing coffee or filing paperwork and that is not what you want to be doing in the future. But your internship is in the right field, and we all have to pay our dues. You do not get to start at the top of the field, doing exactly and whatever it is that you love. You have got to experience all the parts of the jobs, from the cool stuff to the sucky stuff. That is part of what an internship provides you. It gives you a step up so that you can get a taste of experience before you are out in the workforce and help you get perhaps better than an entry-level job (or help you rise from that entry-level job fairly quickly). All the grunt work you are doing now will help you get a job in the future because you are learning the skills necessary ahead of time, which puts you ahead of the game. And more than getting you a job with a hypothetical company in some intangible future, the internship you are working could help lead you to a position with that company doing more of what you want working in the field that you love. If you are interested in the opportunity to continue working with the company you are interning with, you need to stay inspired to do the best job you possibly can so that you can get hired again after your internship ends. And if not with that company, then you need to stay inspired so they will refer you so that you can keep working in the field after you finish your internship. Set End Date Perhaps your internship has not lived up to your expectations. Maybe you are not enjoying the field and are rethinking your career path. Maybe the work environment is not what you hoped it would be. Perhaps the work really is too hard and the tasks too impossible and your bosses are simply asking too much of you and of your time than you can do. The internship has sucked the life out of you and you simply do not know how you can possibly make it to the end. Just remember that your internship has an end and all you have to do is make it to the end in one piece. Be inspired that the internship will not be for forever and it will not always be like this.

Learn More About Chemistry Effective Nuclear Charge

Learn More About Chemistry Effective Nuclear ChargeDid you know that the chemistry effective nuclear charge can be applied to many things, including human physiology? Chemistry is often used in medicine uses many disciplines such as physics and mathematics. Chemists are a special class within this group of scientists who study the chemical properties of matter and how they interact with the physical world. If a person has a desire to understand how to make a simple piece of hardware, or even something that is quite complex like a computer, this knowledge can be very helpful. When reading a book on physics, physics majors or chemistry majors will read that the atomic weight of an element represents its weight in comparison to another element, which is typically carbon. For example, gold and silver are considering pure metals, while lead is an amalgam of two metals such as copper and iron. In some cases a substance can weigh more than it does because of the way it has been mixed, meanin g that gold might weigh less than it would if it were gold and silver, but is at least 25% higher in volume. So what does this have to do with weight? One of the ways that most people will learn about weight is by knowing their atomic weight. If someone has a much heavier piece of furniture, it will weigh more because of the amount of gold used to make it.However, in chemistry class, it is possible to learn the atomic weight of an element, and how this relates to the atoms in the molecule. It is often in the hands of students to determine the atomic weight of elements that are different from gold. For example, it is often used to measure the atomic weight of a variety of chemicals that are used to make metals. The way this works is that the number of protons in an atom determines the atomic weight, and thus the atomic weight of a chemical is simply the number of protons times the mass of the molecule times the square root of the atomic number. One way to get around this is to use the formula P = nRT, where P is the mass of the molecule, n is the atomic number, and R is the density of the substance. The density of an element can be calculated using the atomic number, thus the formula is E = nRT. In this case, E is the atomic number, and n is the atomic weight. The density of the element can be determined by multiplying the atomic number by its mass.In order to calculate the atomic weight of a chemical, the mass and density of the chemical are used in combination with the formula above. This is important because in many instances the chemistry effective nuclear charge can play a part in determining the stability of the chemical, and how long it is good for a certain application. For example, one of the best elements to use in making electronics is called neodymium, which is very rare.
